Meet Elyse Rycroft
If you are anything like me, then you are always looking for ways to fit more into each day and to give your students more. That is exactly what you will find here: teacher tips, management strategies, lesson ideas, and more.
I write about a variety of current and practical education-related topics; from promoting social-emotional learning, to teaching math in student-centered ways, to positive classroom management strategies, to incorporating art into the classroom. Here you will find ideas that can be implemented immediately and easily.
I pride myself on using the best materials in my classroom and had a hard time finding exactly what I wanted. I found myself searching for supplemental materials beyond the curriculum provided to me. This was what motivated me to experiment with making my own teaching resources. I launched Proud to be Primary and a store on Teachers Pay Teachers in 2013 to share my creativity and passions with other teachers.
It is my joy to share my products with people and see them used in classrooms all over the world. I strive to produce resources that are fun and engaging, incorporating creative activities and unique units, all for preschool and primary-aged children. It is my mission to provide high-quality resources that teachers can use to be better educators. I take care to provide you with ideas for lesson instruction and see that all of the necessary materials come included.
There is nothing I enjoy more than realizing that I am making a difference in children’s lives, whether directly or via my work online. Teaching is my passion and I love to shape little minds. I know the feeling that you get when you know you have had an impact, and I know what it is like to want to keep making that impact.
I am a Canadian teacher from Vancouver, British Columbia, with 10 years of classroom experience in primary education (K-3). I graduated with a Bachelor of Education from Simon Fraser University. I have experience teaching Kindergarten through third-grade children. I have a loving husband and two wonderful children who inspire me daily. Currently, I am fortunate to be working at home teaching and supporting my two children, Jackson, 10, and Avery, 7, and focusing on a business that I love.
Thank you for taking the time to learn about me, feel free to message me as I am always excited to get to know and share ideas with like-minded educators. I would love it if you followed along and connected with me via social media.
