Splitting September into apples and classroom community, then moving to pumpkins and leaves in October, feels much more manageable for young learners. The simple idea of comparing pumpkin sizes or taking a nature walk to notice changing leaves stood out to me, since those low-prep moments often spark the best vocabulary and questions. Do you find students stay more engaged when a theme stretches across several weeks, or does interest fade after a week or two?
